Upper Extremity Solutions

Providing Everything You Need for Upper Extremity Compression Solutions

Specialized garments designed to reduce and/or maintain swelling in the torso, arms, wrists, and hands. They provide gentle pressure to support recovery from conditions like lymphedema or aid in managing discomfort from swelling due to injury or surgery.

Why wear upper extremity compression?

Lymphedema can develop after breast surgery or major trauma to your body when there is a change in the lymphatic system. It can occur minutes after a surgery or procedure, a few months or years, or not at all. If you have had a simple mastectomy, radical mastectomy, lumpectomy, lymph node removal or radiation therapy, you could be at risk of developing lymphedema. If you are at risk, discuss with your doctor or therapist if a graduated compression garment is right for you. It is suggested for prevention to wear a compression arm sleeve when flying, exercising or if doing any continuous movement or putting strain on the affected limb (i.e. rowing, gardening, baking/cooking, cleaning, golf, etc.). Visit our Lymphedema page for more information.

Prefabricated vs. Custom Made (Arm Sleeves, Gloves, and Gauntlets)

For daytime compression solutions, Certicare provides both prefabricated and custom made upper extremity compression garments in a variety of materials, compression classes and colours. The best suited garment for you will be discussed at the appointment with your certified fitter. Visit our night time compression solutions page for more information.

Compression Arm Wraps

A compression arm wrap is an inelastic garment designed to reduce swelling and improve circulation in the arm. It features velcro closures for an adjustable fit and is easy to don and doff, making it convenient for daily use.
