Pumps

What is a compression pump?

A compression pump is a medical device designed to improve lymphatic drainage, reduce swelling and improve circulation, particularly in conditions involving the lymphatic and venous systems.  It works be applying intermittent pneumatic pressure to a limb (usually an arm or leg).  The purpose of a compression pump is to promote movement, help manage chronic conditions and prevent complications, like infections.

Key Features:

  • An inflatable sleeve or boot is worn around the limb that is connected to the pump.

  • Using sequential compression, the pump inflates the garment in segments from the distal end of the limb, towards the top, mimicking natural lymphatic or venous flow.

  • Adjustable pressure settings ensure comfort and effectiveness depending on the patient needs.

  • Timed cycles for pulses of compression, followed by rest phases to encourage lymph movement.

  • Ready-made and custom sizes available.
